Established in 1993 by Henri Menard and Stephane Kacedan, African Eagle is a leading full-service inbound tour operator offering a comprehensive range of high quality tour products throughout Africa. With offices in South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, African Eagle operates in a growing number of countries across the African continent, and specialises in tailor-made tour packages for guided and self-drive tours, scheduled departure guided tours, day tours, and bookings for accommodation, restaurants, transfers, car hire, flights, luxury train trips, boat trips, and other travel-related services.
As one of the most trusted inbound tour operators in the African continent operating for almost three decades, we offer our clients exceptional service; reliability; expert knowledge, both of the destinations in which we operate, and of the management of tour operations in these regions; as well as value for money. Our core business is creating tailor-made tour packages, comprised of our own and third party services, on behalf of wholesale tour operators and retail travel agents, and understand the specific requirements of an extensive variety of international markets. We employ a team of over 300 staff members across our offices, and each and every booking is personally handled by experienced travel consultants who liaise between the difference service providers and monitor the status of each service. Our expert consultants have knowledge of the destinations and our clients’ unique requirements, work quickly and accurately, and take responsibility to ensure that all services are thoroughly checked.
We work with approximately 300 registered, qualified guides who between them speak a wide range of languages and have excellent knowledge of their designated destinations. In order to guarantee the quality of the vehicles used to conduct tours, we have our own fleet of vehicles at each of our branches, all of which are registered and insured in accordance to European tourism laws. Over the years we have established excellent relationships with our service providers and have negotiated some of the best rates available for every service we offer.
We continually strive to enhance our business and service and have developed our own online booking system, Tourmap Web, which is now available to our clients and the travel trade free of charge. Tourmap Web is an easy-to-use B2B online destination management system for South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire. Our clients can check real-time availability of thousands of hotels and other service providers, view rates and receive instant confirmations when making reservations. They can browse through an extensive list of FIT and group itineraries which can all be easily modified to suit their customers’ needs. Tourmap Web is directly linked to real-time booking engines including eRes® and NightsBridge, and rates are available for every room type and configuration. Through Tourmap Web, our clients can also access training material on the destinations or the system itself, as well as marketing material such as brochures and pictures to help them sell the destinations. And rest in the knowledge that their requests will be attended to, not by an algorithm, but by real people, on the ground, and passionate about their destinations.
