First established in 1905, the grand colonial town was then the most important in northern Rhodesia, and today houses well over 300 cultural heritage sites including archaeological locations, historical buildings and national monuments. It is also conveniently located just over 10 kilometres from the Victoria Falls where visitors can view the landmark bridge spanning the Zambezi River and gorge, connecting Zambia to Zimbabwe and the town of Victoria Falls. Falls Tour: Zambian side • Flight: Falls by helicopter(o)
 -Breakfast
-Pick up from your hotel for a guided tour of the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls. These mighty and thundering falls are an awesome sight to behold as water travels down the Zambezi River towards a sheer drop to the canyon below. Your tour to the world’s best known curtain of falling water will stop at riveting viewpoints such as Knife Edge Bridge with great views of the Eastern Cataract and the Main Falls as well as Boiling Pot, a huge whirlpool at the base of the falls where the river turns and heads down the Batoka Gorge. Different times of the year provide completely different experiences with peak flooding season showcasing the full power of the falls in all its glory, while the dry season offers other natural highlights such as views of the impressive rock crevices that are usually hidden by the river.
-Pick up from your hotel for an unforgettable helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls. This trip is also referred to as the ‘flight of angels’ and originates from a phrase coined by David Livingstone when he first documented discovering the Victoria Falls, writing that ‘scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight’. Expect your adrenalin to pump and witness panoramic views of epic proportions as you take to the skies and watch the Zambezi River meander lazily along its course before reaching the highlight where the water plummets over a sheer cliff face and disappears into an immense spray of mist into the canyon below. Once you have caught your breath, admire the zigzag of gorges that the mighty falls have eroded over fault lines through thousands of years. Your flight will last 12 minutes and alternatively take place in an airplane if a helicopter is not available. (Optional rates: D2:Falls by helicopter)
